What is Leverage?

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

What is Leverage?

Leverage is explained by webster in 2 ways which is the following

Leverage (noun)

as 1 : the action of a lever or the mechanical advantage gained by it 2 : power , effectiveness <trying to gain more political leverage> 3 : the use of credit to enhance one’s speculative capacity

Leverage

Main Entry:
2leverage
Function:
transitive verb
Inflected Form(s):
leveraged; leverag·ing
Date:
1957

1: to provide (as a corporation) or supplement (as money) with leverage ; also : to enhance as if by supplying with financial leverage2: to use for gain : exploit <shamelessly leverage the system to their advantage — Alexander Wolff>

Realistically if you put it all together you combine any numerous amounts of techniques, tactics, to get what you want. Hunh?

Ok let me put another way for you by actually addding a short list of things of which you can leverage but not limited to following list:

True and Real Assets

Time

Money

Contacts

Mailing List

Products  (Ebooks, Audio Ebooks, Videos Either on DVD or Downloadable online, Software)

Services (In Exchange for something else of equal or more value)

Content

Knowledge and Skills

Marketing Ability

Salesmanship

Alright I think that give you some kind of idea of what leverage is and how you can maximize your ability to achieve what you want, if you cannot do something find someone willing to partner with you and leverage each others ability to get things done.

Now choose someone where he fills in your weaknesses and you are able to fill his, that way you both are able to correct each other’s weakness through leverage, this will allow for you both to be a better structured and successful partnership.

If you have a group whereby you all lack the same abilities, find someone to help eliminate that gap of that group and you will see that your group will become so powerful through the art of Leverage.

So many people miss out on the real efforts and strength of what leverage can do for you both personally and business and as well as financially, friendships, etc.

All of it can deliver so much value to you and your goals, missions, plans.

This will be touched upon a little bit later on and should not be thought of as not valuable, because it will show you that you are not really using your head. Why do I say that here?

Think about all of the successful people who has come before us and are currently popping up all over the place, do you think that success just falls into their lap, no it doesn’t and if you believe that they are lucky, yes they maybe but not completely.

They used a variety of connections to the above list and helped them Leverage their past failures and turned them into successful leveraged leaders. Remember no matter who you are and what you do, even if you do not believe me, you are using leverage.

Do you use a alarm clock in the morning, tooth brush and tooth paste, fork to eat your food, keys to lock your door at night, I do believe I have given you a few examples here.

That’s how powerful Leverage is and how it can help you really achieve success.

Start thinking of ways of using the above list to start t achieve your desired lifestyle and take it from me, you will be hearing about how I am applying this strategy to both my personal and business lifestyles as well.

I have always loved this word but never really took that massive action that helps this really come alive for me until last year and now I am taking massive action and will unleash the power of leverage.

All the best,

Well Are You An Information Junkie?

By Julio R. Mattos

To be perfectly honest with you, I really am an information junkie, well hope that doesn’t cross you the wrong way.

I love reading and meeting interesting people with new and fresh ideas, but most of the time they are old ideas transformed from old to knew again, which is sometimes a really good thing. The reason why I say good well take a good look at all of this fuss over the old scary movies, Chainsaw Massacre and all of the Jason Movies how many times does this guy come back to life or don’t die but disappear, Michael Meyers, etc.

You know why most of these movies are so inviting for the film and movie industry, simply put, they work and why start from the beginning if the system that has been working and will continue to work with little add on’s here and there. They make Millions of dollars each time those movies are made and they are given awards, big royalty payout, bonuses, for what you may ask?

The System they developed, made improvements on, continues to work on day to day basis still bringing in millions and millions of dollars in sales each and every month, not year but months.  Now a lot of the old school directors, video experts, they have turned to the internet and social media to help drive business up and to help spread the word about new releases and we all are movies buffs to a certain to degree no matter what you may claim to say.

My little brother, I remember when Blade came out with Westley Snipes, do you my brother went to watch that movie around 13 times, I watch all of those Blade movies beside my brother, but not 13 times. I remember because we both were collecting a lot of information about start up business and mail order companies and pretty much everything we could find about starting and running a business.

I remember us sitting down, looking through all of the stuff, me and my brother would send our money out and since my little brother was working with me  and we both were going school, but I made him go full time and work on the business part time. We wasted a lot of time and learned a lot from the experience and also spent a lot of money, I am not kidding we spend a lot of cash.

Anyways long story short if we can, my little brother was a game freak, he would play in some of the competitions, he was good at playing games, he won a few of championships that Sony, Game-boy and other video game experts would come out to the bay area to put on.  He was so into the games, that it took over most of his time and then in 2001 I remember this year oh so well, he was also playing around with hacking codes not good for me, not good for our business and not good for company computers.

He considered himself trying to make our computers more faster and better equipped that he deleted some programs, that at the time I had know clew you could freak-in delete, do you know that it cost us so much money, time and also potential business partnerships because at the time we did not back up our work. Everything was on those 2 computers and I has know idea was in store for me once I came home, we lost so much and I personally lost a whole lot of time, money, business contracts, even my vendors was wondering what was going on and how come they haven’t heard from me and have not received orders.

I took the laptops to CompUsa, of course the company folded last year in 2008, but the point is this was 2001 and 2 years into our business we were doing pretty good and has just received 2-3 major contracts at the time and it was about to be a very awesome turnout, but guess what, I took the laptops to see if we could get the computers fixed or at least recover the data.

Do you think that we were able to retrieve the data? No, unfortunately, the technicians had know clew how my brother was able to delete some of the toshiba systems, considering that a lot of it was protected by Microsoft, wow, it was music to my ears and I had a headache the size of San Francisco. If it wasn’t my brother, I would beaten the crap out of him, but I calmed down after yelling at him until I lost my voice and went to my car and when for a nice long ride. Believe it or not, I do mean long ride I found myself all the way down in Los Angeles, not for sightseeing and not for anything more but collecting my thoughts, that’s an 8 hour drive from San Francisco, if you are not aware of the distance.

But along time later, it has been a great experience nonetheless, we have had success and had some failures, but more success then failures, also I learned a whole about business partnerships as well, not including my brother, I can barely hold grudges against family, my mother’s raising us up that way.

I have had a lot more success in my life then I have had failures, but not only that, failure is merely a different way of testing out different systems and plans. What I found out by gathering information and becoming bombarded with so much information, it was apparent, I became overwhelmed and took me a moment to collect my thoughts.

Ah, when you sit down to write, really you loose track of time.
