Happy Halloween October 31, 2007

Halloween the one day a year where everyone usually get’s dressed up in costumes and party like crazy. But for the kids they love this part of the year where they can get dressed up and get to go trick or treating for some candy, money, and just for the fun showing off their costume.

This is usually where a lot people, friends, family come together and have a little fun, of course with an excuse, I GET TO WHERE A COSTUME, One of my friends called me up saying this to me on Monday. Usually he’s working but this year he decided to take Thursday November 1st, 2007 off and go out tonight and really scare the children who comes to his house this evening. Since he will be at home just about on time for the children to start out on their little Trick’or Treating Journey, it’s going to be so funny, I will try to take some pictures and add them to the blog this evening.

Hope you all have fun on the last day of October and get out and enjoy a little bit giving out candy, watching all of those small children come to your house or watch them walking by.  Or just get out there and enjoy a Halloween party with your family and friends.

I do believe I will be going to a friend house tonight handout some candy to the little ones, and maybe spend about 30 minutes or so walking with him and his family and then go and enjoy a little dancing and little mingling with a few friends. But just for a couple hours currently have a few projects me and my team is currently working on.

Please Enjoy your Halloween and most important have some fun. Be safe as well.

The Great Thing About Attitude

The Great Thing About ATTITUDE

John is the kind of guy you love to hate.  He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say.  When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, “If I were any better, I would be twins!”

He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, John was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation. Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up and asked him, “I don’t get it! You can’t be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?” He replied, “Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or … you can choose to be in a bad mood I choose to be in a good mood.”

Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or…I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it.

Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or… I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life.

“Yeah, right, it’s not that easy,” I protested.

“Yes, it is,” he said. “Life is all about choices.  When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice.  You choose how you react to situations.  You choose how people affect your mood.

You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood.  The bottom line: It’s your choice how you live your life.”

I reflected on what he said.  Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry to start my own business.  We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later, I heard that he was involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower.

After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, he was released from the hospital with rods placed in his back.

I saw him about six months after the accident.

When I asked him how he was, he replied, “If I were any better, I’d be twins…Wanna see my scars?”

I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place.

“The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my soon-to-be born daughter,” he replied.  “Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or…I could choose to die. I chose to live.”

“Weren’t you scared?  Did you lose consciousness?”  I asked

He continued, “the paramedics were great.

They kept telling me I was going to be fine.  But when they wheeled me into the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read “he’s a dead man” I knew I needed to take action.”

“What did you do?” I asked.

“Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me,” said John. “She asked if I was allergic to anything ‘Yes, I replied!’  The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, “Gravity.”

Over their laughter, I told them, “I am choosing to live.  Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.”

He lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude… I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.

Attitude, after all, is everything .

Mr Julio

“What is it That Drives You?” 10 Questions To Ask Yourself: A Guide to Self-Improvement

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

“What is it That Drives You?” 10 Questions To Ask Yourself: A Guide to Self-Improvement

Be all you can be, but it’s not always in the Army. I often see myself as somewhat contented with my life the way things are, but of course it’s hard to think of anything else when where are real issues to be discussed.

Still I aspire for something deeper and more meaningful.

So we’re all pelted with problems. Honestly it shouldn’t even bother or even hinder us to becoming all we ought to be. Aspirations as kids should continue to live within us, even though it would be short-lived or as long as we could hold on to the dream. They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks… or can they?

1. What do I really want?

The question of the ages. So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about during the day.

Find something that you are good at can help realize that small step towards improvement. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it.

2. Should I really change?

Today’s generation has taken another level of redefining ‘self’, or at least that’s what the kids are saying. Having an army of teenage nieces and nephews has taught me that there are far worse things that they could have had than acne or maybe even promiscuity. So how does that fit into your lifestyle?

If history has taught us one thing, it’s the life that we have gone through. Try to see if partying Seventies style wouldn’t appeal to the younger generation, but dancing is part of partying. Watch them applaud after showing them how to really dance than break their bones in break-dancing.

3. What’s the bright side in all of this?

With so much is happening around us there seem to be no room for even considering that light at the end of the tunnel. We can still see it as something positive without undergoing so much scrutiny. And if it’s a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round!

4. Am I comfortable with what I’m doing?

There’s always the easy way and the right way when it comes to deciding what goes with which shoes, or purse, shirt and whatnot. It doesn’t take a genius to see yourself as someone unique, or else we’ll all be equally the same in everything we do. Variety brings in very interesting and exciting questions to be experimented.

5. Have I done enough for myself?

Have you, or is there something more you want to do? Discontentment in every aspect can be dangerous in large doses, but in small amounts you’ll be able to see and do stuff you could never imagine doing.

6. Am I happy at where I am today?

It’s an unfair question so let it be an answer! You love being a good and loving mom or dad to your kids, then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever. The same goes with everyday life!

7. Am I appealing to the opposite sex?

So maybe I don’t have an answer to that, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try it, though. Whether you shape-up, change the way you wear your clothes or hair, or even your attitude towards people, you should always remember it will always be for your own benefit.

8. How much could I have?

I suppose in this case there is no such things on having things too much or too little, but it’s more on how badly you really need it. I’d like to have lots of money, no denying that, but the question is that how much are you willing to work for it?

9. What motivates me?

What motivates you? It’s an answer you have to find out for yourself. There are so many things that can make everyone happy, but to choose one of the may be the hardest part. It’s not like you can’t have one serving of your favorite food in a buffet and that’s it. Just try it piece by piece.

10. What Really Makes You Tick?

So? What really makes you tick? You can be just about anything you always wanted to be, but to realize that attaining something that may seem very difficult is already giving up before you even start that journey. Always remember, that self-improvement is not just about the physical or philosophical change you have to undergo, but it’s something that you really want.

Discovering the Law on Human Attraction? Is There A Law About Homan Attraction?

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Does a Law on Human Attraction Exist?
“Opposites attract” is a law of attraction, at least where electromagnetism is concerned. But are there laws about attraction between two people? “In a world that is full of strangers” as a line in a famous song of the 1980’s goes, is there a clear set of rules that allows two people to fall for each other?

Is attraction a matter of chemistry?

Maybe. According to scientists, the attraction between animals of the opposite sex is all about chemicals called pheromones. The effect of pheromones in behavior of insects is the most studied to date. It has been observed, at least in some experiments, that pheromones are responsible for communication among same species and colony of ants. The horrible odor released by skunks to ward off enemies is said to be a kind of pheromone. Some species of apes rub pheromone-containing urine on the feet of potential mates to attract them. Some scientists believe that animals (usually the females) such as insects and mammals send out these chemical signals to tell the male of their species that their genes are different from theirs. This gene diversity is important in producing offspring with better chances of survival. The perfume industry has capitalized on pheromones as a means to increase one’s sexual attractiveness to the opposite sex. Animals such as the whale and the musk deer were hunted down for these chemicals.

Lately, scientists are looking into the existence of human pheromones and its role in mate selection. There are many conflicting views in the realm of biology, chemistry, genetics, and psychology. Most scientists would assert that these do not exist, or if they do, do not play a role in sexual attraction between a man and a woman. But new researches such as that conducted by Swiss researchers from the University of Bern led by Klaus Wedekind are slowly making these scientists rethink their stand. Their experiment involved women sniffing the cotton shirts of different men during their ovulation period. It was found out that women prefer the smell of men’s shirts that were genetically different, but also shared similarities with the women’s genes. This, like in the case of insects and other mammals, was to ensure better and healthier characteristics for their future children. But researchers also cautioned that preference for a male odor is affected by the women’s ovulation period, the food that men eat, perfumes and other scented body products, and the use of contraceptive pills.

Does personality figure in sexual attraction?

Yes, but so does your perception of a potential mate’s personality. According to a research conducted by Klohnen, E.C., & S. Luo in 2003 on interpersonal attraction and personality, a person’s sense of self-security and at least the person’s perception of his/her partner were found to be strong determinants of attraction in hypothetical situations. What does this tell us? We prefer a certain personality type, which attracts you to a person. But aside from the actual personality of the person, which can only be verified through close interaction through time, it is your perception of your potential partner that attracts you to him/her, whether the person of your affection truly has that kind of personality or not. This could probably account for a statement commonly heard from men and women on their failed relationships: “I thought he/she was this kind of person.”

So how does attraction figure in relationships?

You have probably heard that attraction is a prelude, or a factor towards a relationship. Most probably, at least in the beginning; but attraction alone cannot make a relationship work. It is that attraction that makes you notice a person from the opposite sex, but once you get to know the person more, attraction is just one consideration. Shared values, dreams, and passions become more significant in long-term relationships.

So should I stop trying to become attractive?

More than trying to become physically attractive, work on all aspects of your health: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Physical attraction is still a precursor. Remember, biology predisposes us to choose the partner with the healthiest genes. Where your emotions are concerned, just ask this to yourself: would you want to spend time with a person who feels insecure about him/herself? Probably not! There is wisdom in knowing yourself: who you are, your beliefs, values, and dreams. And do not pretend to be someone you are not. Fooling another person by making him/her think that you share the same values and beliefs is only going to cause you both disappointments. When you are healthy in all aspects, attractiveness becomes a consequence and not an end. As mentioned in the Klohnen and Luo’s research, a person’s sense of self-security matters, perhaps even beyond attraction. But remember: do these things for yourself and not for other people. Only then can you truly harness your attractiveness as a person.

What’s the Hot Buzz in the News Lately?

What’s the Hot Buzz in the News Lately?

The Reason for this question it seems to be all bad as of late.

Let’s see here we have heard about the WARS over in the middle east, of course we will not really see any of this change for sometime to come and their is a lot of criticism about the war over in Iraq is going to cost multi-billions upward to trillions, this is of course from CNN news and from others news stations, such as KRON 5.

We have heard about the real estate market loosing some value in several places around the country, we hearing about record breaking mortgage companies loosing money, record breaking foreclosures, stock market loosing value which is unusual based on the facts of the real estate markets, usually they go in opposite directions but it’s not the case currently.

Sources for these facts: SF Chronicle, Wall Street Journal, NY Times, CNN News.

You know literally every where you look it’s always something and FED is thinking about another interest rate decrease, this is not only hurting the US Dollar, but now other countries as well, since most of th

Well not only have we seen this the terrible fire storm down in San Diego, the inflation taking place through the country, the 3rd quarter reports for some companies fell shorter then expected and in others surpassed the amount expected which happens every quarter it seems like. But their is alot of talk from around the world a lot of countries are sitting on a lot of cash currently and they usually by a lot of US dollars because our dollar is usually very strong but currently we have seen our dollar decrease in value towards other currencies, alot  of experts who usually write on the news, NY Times, Wall Street, IBO,, have been saying for some years now that US Dollar has and will continue to decrease in value.

But we will soon see if this happens and as we go forward we will also watch the Presidential race between Democrats, Republicans and the other parties take place and unfold. Plus we will watch the real estate industry, mortgage industries, bankruptcies, financial industries, Fed and Sec and all these other resources provide us with either good and or bad news.

While all of this stuff is taking place you are also seeing big business buying competitors and a lot of small businesses slowly but surely opening and closing each and everyday.

Let’s improve our current lifestyles for the better and not only watch all this that is taking place before us, but to change our own current financial outcomes, by learning to invest our money, time, and steadily improve ourselves.

Until next time, would like to wish you well on all of the journey’s that your life will take you on and wish that you prosper in all your walks of life.

Halloween Weekend Celebration 2007

I am very sure you had a fantastic weekend and that you have attended at least 1-2 parties over the course of the weekend.

Well I attended a few parties over the weekend and had a great time, also seen a lot of different costumes. Did a little dancing, of course I was with a pretty large group of friends from different  parts of the Bay Area and it was a lot of fun.

But both Friday and Saturday It was worth every moment hanging out with my friends, some I have  not seen in about 6 months and others in 3 months, more a year or more. But it was interesting a few friends were dressed up and others came as themselves, yours truly came as I was but with a pair of vampire teeth and dressed all in black.

At anycase it was a lot of fun and we all had got are workouts because we danced all night and talked, caught up on what has been going on each other’s lives. Ah, a lot of things have been going on. Some of them told me they had a baby on the way, few got engaged, a few of them bought their first homes, others bought brand new cars, you know the good and bad news.

Some recently started investing in some part time business ventures and some of them recently created their very first websites and ebay businesses. A few of them have started to tell me a bunch of things, it very overwhelming considering that it was so many of us hanging out together.

Hope you had a good weekend and that everything is going good with you and yours.

All the best and Happy Halloween weekend.

Best regards,

San Diego Fire Storms: San Diego Fire Evacuations

From The Desk Of Mr. Julio Mattos

My Heart goes out to all of the people who has had to evacuate their homes down in San Diego, California, it has been a very hard time for over 1,000,000 Million people who were forced to leave everything they ever had. For others they lost a lot more then others, but now alot of people have to deal with all of things they have going on currently.

We must all let them know we care, for some of us we have friends down in San Diego County, others have family and other relatives.

Just know that we are all wishing you the best and that we are looking to give you our full support in any way we can.

So many media avenues are writing about it and covering it from land to the skies, they are mostly talking about the money that it will cost for rebuilding and the amount of people who has lost a lot of things.

This aftermath will be a long and rebuilding effort from emotions to homes, to the costs of rebuilding, to firefighters whose working day and day out to try to contain the flames from spreading even further, to also the fact getting everything in control.

Well we have long ways to go for San Diego County citizens to get back on there feet and into being satisfied.

Much respect goes out to them, and to everyones family down there. We will be following the stories and watching to see what happens. Be strong and stay in contact with those you love and care about.

Do You Enjoy Your Life: Why Change Your Point Of View!

Do You Enjoy Your Life: Why Change Your Point Of View!
“Two men look out through the same bars: One sees the mud, and one sees the stars.”- Frederick Langbridge, A Cluster of Quiet Thoughts

If you’ve won second place in a writing contest, will you jump for joy and push for better results the next time or will you be discouraged and find an excuse not to join again?

In life, you are always filled with choices. You may opt to have a pessimist’s view and live a self-defeated life or you may decide to take the optimist’s route and take a challenging and fulfilling life.

So why nurture an optimist’s point of view? And why now?

Well, optimism has been linked to positive mood and good morale; to academic, athletic, military, occupational and political success; to popularity; to good health and even to long life and freedom from trauma.

On the other hand, the rates of depression and pessimism have never been higher. It affects middle-aged adults the same way it hits younger people. The mean age of onset has gone from 30 to 15. It is no longer a middle-aged housewife’s disorder but also a teen-ager’s disorder’ as well. This has been a common sense way of life since the early days and will continue to change.

Here’s how optimists are in action and researches that back up why it really pays to be an optimist:

Optimists Expect The Best

The defining characteristic of pessimists is that they tend to believe bad events, which will last a long time and undermine everything they do, are their own fault.

The truth is optimists are confronted with the same hard knocks of this world. What differs is the way they explain their misfortune—it’s the opposite way. They tend to believe defeat is just a temporary setback, that its causes are confined to this one case.

Optimists tend to focus on and plan for the ‘problem’ at hand. They use ‘positive reinterpretation.’ In other words, they most likely reinterpret a negative experience in a way that helps them learn and grow. Such people are unfazed by bad situation, they perceive it is a challenge and try harder.

They won’t say “things will never get better,” “If I failed once, it will happen again” and “If I experience misfortune in one part of my life, then it will happen in my whole life.”

Positive expectancies of optimists also predict better reactions during transitions to new environments, sudden tragedies and unlikely turn of events. If they fall, they will stand up. They see opportunities instead of obstacles.

People respond positively to optimists.

Optimists” are proactive and less dependent on others for their happiness. They find no need to control or manipulate people. They usually draw people towards them. Their optimistic view of the world can be contagious and influence those they are with.

Optimism seems a socially desirable trait in all communities. Those who share “optimism” are generally accepted while those who spread gloom, panic and hysteria are treated unfavorably.

In life, these people often win elections; get voted most congenial and sought for advice.

When the going gets tough, optimists get tougher, this is so true in more ways then one, life we must learn that we will fail once and over and over again, but if you learn from them you will decrease your failure rate and would have also increased your ability to discipline yourself through all walks of your life as well.

Optimists typically maintain higher levels of subjective well-being during times of stress than do people who are less optimistic. In contrast, pessimists are likely to react to stressful events by denying that they exist or by avoiding dealing with problems. Pessimists are more likely to quit trying when difficulties arise.

They persevere. They just don’t give up easily, they are also known for their patience. Inching their way a step closer to that goal or elusive dream.

Optimists are healthier and live longer

Medical research has justified that simple pleasures and a positive outlook can cause a measurable increase in the body’s ability to fight disease.

Optimists’ health is unusually good. They age well, much freer than most people from the usual physical ills of middle age. And they get to outlive those prone to negative thoughts.

So why not be an optimist today? And think positively towards a more fulfilled life.

Why not look forward to success in all your endeavors? Why not be resilient? Like everybody else you are bound to hit lows sometimes but don’t just stay there. Carry yourself out of the mud and improve your chances of getting back on the right track. And why not inspire others to remove their dark-colored glasses and see life in the bright side?

October 2007 Festivities

October 2007 Festivities

So what activities usually take place in October well we all know of the end of the month and of course the beginning of the month, and a little bit in between. But about through the whole month.

This is just a small summary. Here in San Francisco we have quite a few things and in the bay area in general and I am pretty sure where ever you are from you have this as well.

Ok So here in San Francisco just a small list:

Fleet Week

October Fest

The Ending of Religious holidays

Plus much more.

But if I were to ask you, a few questions on what you have done this month, what would your answers be?

I mean I live in San Francisco and it’s a great city to be in but at the same time, I have attended all the above and have been visiting friends around town and have even gone dancing over the past couple of weeks.

I have even worked on my business projects, have studied some knew marketing and sales strategies, some graphic designing, deciding on templates to use on current and future projects, newsletter templates, also what content to provide here to and much more.

We feel that alot of people and including us at become overwhelmed with amount of training programs out there, content creation, product development, list building, marketing and sales strategies, master mind groups, etc.

We are overwhelmed by the Business Journey Information Bug and while on the hunt for perfect information, we miss out on what’s directly in front of us and tend to blame everyone around us, but do not take it up on ourselves to look at ourselves directly in the mirror to see what’s truly going on. Believe me we all come across this fact and more so then others and then we allows ourselves to become complacent or just sitting idle, because of the lack of motivation or that we will procrastinate then actually take the necessary action needed to accomplish what you have on your goal setting and mission setting plates.

Planning in all walks of your life is a very important gem and I will tell you why over the coming months, but as you may know it’s coming around that time of year  again where so many people make plans of change and while others simply dream for change sit idle and never do anything to change their current situations. We have been deciding on what to offer you here on and what you would like offered to you and we have seen quite a few sign ups to our blog lately and will soon set in place our email list that will email to everyone soon.

We have taken numerous steps lately in preparing a several products, we were suppose to had rolled them out late last month but decided to delay those plans, but of course we going to do it earlier this month but several things came up and we were slightly delay again. We should have a few things coming at the end of the month and beginning in November.

Also we know that next month we have several friends birthdays coming up and will be spending some time going to celebrate their birthdays, we believe that if you have friends that you definitely treat them like family, if you have family treasure every moment that you can because you never know what may come your way. Also about some of you out there that hold grudges Mr Mattos doesn’t like holding grudges and neither should you, try to let go of the grudges that you may have the sooner you do the better off will be.

Let’s prepare today for the beginning of our new lives, why wait until tomorrow, without making any excuses surely you can spare 15-30 minutes a day in working towards your goals or your solutions, since most people do not like using the those two so how about we use another, Success being able to complete the projects that you have and would like to accomplish. Failure is when the ability to not be able to accomplish something you would like to accomplish.

Let’s enjoy the rest of October. we will be bringing more and more helpful content, product reviews, products and services here soon, also if you are a freelancer then we will hope that you look to build additional income streams while you working as a freelancer. Simply depending only on your per project fee will only give you so much, but if you learn to leverage your time, money, energy and offer also products then you will benefit more and more.

Also communicating with your client base by offering them different channels for them to communicate with you will also reduce the amount of time spent on answering their questions, so you could create a forum, a blog that you post questions and you offer answers to those questions, forums are better suited for this and offers them the ability to see what they are looking for.

Well that’s all for now, have a great day and a wonderful weekend.

Best regards,

Mr. Julio Mattos
